Lavender

A few weeks ago I harvested some lavender. when it was dry I removed all the dried buds from the stalks and enjoyed the smell for a few days.

Then I made some lavender shortbread. We had the shortbread at our wedding and its delicious. You can find the recipe here

I had enough lavender left over to make some lavender sachets: sew two pieces of material together, leave a gap, fill with lavender and close by hand.

Two new posts! Turquoise and lavender. Now I remember those lavender shortcakes, they were soo good. We should harvest all the lavender in our front garden.

I adjusted the number of servings on the recipe page to 100.... only called for a quarter cup of mint and less lavender. Can it be? We anyways have a lot more than that of each...

oh yes, do harvest it all! you can save some for me too if you have too much :-) cut off the whole stalks and let them dry for a while and then shake out all the little bits of flowers before you take off the pods.

I looked at the recipe for 100, it seems right, 1/2 cup of lavender (thats more than 1/4 cup :-)) and I anyway didn't put very much mint in, I think a 1/4 cup should be enough.
