teaching

in september I taught for three weeks. these are my wonderful students :-)
I'm always thrilled when I see one of them walking around Heidelberg. (or once at the check-out in Lidl, struggling to find the right words)
this semester I'm teaching a course in applied phonetics (TAing would be politically correct probably). thats not as intense, since its just one hour a week.

in september my strawberries finally started growing berries. must have been all the rain. I learned that strawberries need a lot of water :-) but since its been so cold I might have to take them inside? I don't know.

Ziegelhausen

today I walked about ten ;-) kilometers from Heidelberg to Ziegelhausen. we took many detours and saw many old ruins. like this cloister for example, st. Michaels Kloster from the 11 hundreds, a few hundred meters before we had been at one from the 10th century (equals tenhundreds??). it was beautiful weather but icy cold, especially as high up as we were. by the time we got the the third cloister (Neuburg) it was dark, but there was a little weihnachtsmarkt, very cozy and nice, not at all as commercial as the heidelberger weihnachtsmarkt. by the time we got to ziegelhausen I was frozen :-) but we made lots of hot chocolate and had a wonderful meal together and ended with a film.
